Addiction thirty-seven: THE NUDE HEEL

The ONE item you must have this season is the nude heel. They replace the black heel as the classic shoe that goes with everything, it will keep your look fresh and modern. A black shoe not only looks wintery but feels old fashioned. If you saw the royal wedding last month you would have seen most guests in nude heels.

Don’t be afraid to invest in a fabulous pair as this isn’t a passing trend, nude is here to stay. Like black, nude will go with all colors but unlike a black it will make your legs look longer, BONUS! There is so much out there to chose from you’ll be sure to find a pair to suit you whether it’s a kitten heel, open toe, slingback or a sky scrapper.

Here are a few of my favorite patent pairs...

Christian Louboutin at Net-A-Porter.com, $595

Sam Edelman, $114.95

Steven Madden, $79.95

Jimmy Choo, $750

Franco Sarto at Nordstrom, $89.95

Addiction twenty-five: KITTEN HEEL

My favourite trend of the season is the kitten heel comeback. For someone who struggled wearing skyscraper heels, even though I do think they look amazing, I’m so excited (and secretly relieved) that they are finally out.
With the recent popularity of all things 50s like Mad Men and Michelle Obama’s wardrobe it’s no wonder that fashion houses like Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana and Prada are also channelling this look thereby cementing the trend as a must have for next season.

Don’t let any one tell you that kittens are practical and boring. Practical they maybe but boring NEVER not with this seasons new styles!

Addiction one: CLOGS

This is a new addiction for me, I‘ve NEVER been a fan of this style of shoe, they always look so heavy and uncomfortable.

However since I’ve seen Alexa Chung wearing a pair earlier this year at the Chanel Couture show I think I’ve fallen in love! The chunky high heel worn with grey tights and classic white Chanel dress looked fantastic! Alexa clearly must be in love too as she can be seen wearing a pair on the cover of the March British edition of Vogue!

Ever since then I can’t stop thinking about clogs. In the past I have always been put off by them as I thought they would be really clunky and heavy (as I’m very clumsy I HATE heavy shoes). However while shopping for some ankle boots at Kurt Geiger (I was desperately in need of some with all the constant rain we’ve been having in London) I decided to try on pair. I was pleasantly surprised to feel how light they were. It was clearly a misconception I had.

I know clogs aren’t everyone’s taste however I know this look will be everywhere this season. So many fantastic designers have included them in their SS’10 collections; Chanel, Kurt Geiger, Jimmy Choo, Fendi, Gucci, Celine and my personal favourite Miu Miu. They have done them in the cutest prints; doves, daisies and even cats! Apparently there is already a waiting list for them and I want a pair!
